Welcome to Dressage Rotorua The Rotorua Dressage Group was formed over 30 years ago to promote and organise dressage in our area. Based at the Riverdale Show Grounds in Ngongotaha, which is also shared with several other equestrian groups, is known as Rotorua's equestrian hub. We hold Open Competiton days which are grading days in September, November and January and in the Autumn we hold a series over two days in April and May, which cater predominately for the unregistered and lower level but also include classes up to Advanced level. When we are not organising competitions we also run rallies and social events for our members. National Shows
Helen Holden Area Teams Championship at Bates Nationals Please note that the Teams Championship is taking a more formal approach this year - in the past we have had riders simply turn up at the office nominating themselves / friends in a team which is not in the true spirit of an Area Teams Championship. Additionally it has caused a lot of work for the office staff on the day as some riders get nominated for more than one team, some do not even belong to the area they are nominated for, some teams borow a rider from another area when in fact there were more riders available from their own area So - for 2012 we atre trying a new approach where all team/ s should be sanctioned by the official area group (and therfore can be selected by) rather than a an area official at the event simply being asked to sign a form by a group of riders who have selected their own team We believe this process will give more status to the Team Championship and teams will be truly respresentative of their areas Plaese be aware of this and be ready to action as nominations are sought by 2nd Feb However, given the change of process we will give a little leeway this year and accept official team nominations up until 15 Feb 2011 If for any reason a team combination is forced to withdraw, substiutions can be made with the area permsision
